'Morning of' Mimosa Bar

Photo courtesy of My Best Friends Wedding

Planning a 'morning of' breakfast for your bridesmaids? How about hosting it with a mimosa bar? How pretty...and how good! Yum! Choose an assortment of fruit juices, fruit and some champagne and you are ready for a morning of hair, makeup  and girl talk.

I love the way the decorated by scattering a few rose petals on the tabletop from a rose that matches the single rose in the vase. Very classic. Very simple. Very effective. So enjoy your mimosas--and have one for me.

The Bride Wore Flowers In Her Hair

One of today's trends is for the bride to substitute a veil for wearing flowers in her hair. The brides in these photos show just a few examples of choices some of today's brides have made substituting flowers for a veil and/or tiara.

Brides who wear their hair in braids often choose the option of flowers over a veil because it is so easy to hold the flowers in your hair if you have braided it for your big day.

Some brides choose Etsy products like these flowers from Virginia Geiger Jewels. Simple but effective. Etsy is full of great options for brides, head over and take a look. You are sure to find something to suit you.

The look above is reminiscent of The Great Gatsby's flapper era. It takes a certain panache to pull this look off, but if you've got, flaunt it!  The flapper look if very 'in' this year so feel free to adopt it for your wedding day.

Delicious Dessert For A Party

Photo courtesy of Smarty Had A Party

Looking for a nice sweet to round out your wedding day or even a shower or rehearsal dinner? Why not try these Chocolate Mousse Cones? Tiny ice cream cones are filled with rich chocolate mousse (YUM!) and settled in a glass of cranberries to keep the cones upright. The cranberries add some color to your dessert table as well as a contrasting tart taste to the sweetness of the mousse. What do you think? Yum right?

Ingredients:
1 (3.1-oz.) package chocolate mousse
1/4 cup Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
16 Salt Mini Cones
Make mousse per package directions and add 1/4C chocolate hazelnut spread. Cover and chill several hours. Spoon mousse into cones or pipe it in using a icing bag. This recipe makes 16 cones.

Flower Girl Dresses That Wow!

Photo by Pepper Nix, Wedding Photojournalist for Dolores Petunia of Etsy.com

Flower girl dresses should make the flower girl feel like she is a bride herself. This doesn't mean she has to have a copy of the bride's gown in a mini-me size, it just means her gown should 'wow!' all on it's own. The flower girl should feel as special as she walks down that aisle as the bride does. It is an experience she will never forget, so why not go all out?

These two dresses, one of a kinds designed by Dolores Petunia will take little girls should absolutely love wearing their dress (almost as much as you love your wedding dress) and that will be the exact reaction the moment they put it on this couture flower girl dress.
Dolores Petunia's designers take your flower girl's experience from the ho hum of boring bridal wear into the stratosphere of feeling like a queen. These dresses have it all, twirl-a-bility (something Dolores Petunia aims for in all her dresses) as well as well, bling. And we all know how much little girls love bling (big girls too.)

Dolores Petunia coined the word 'twirlabiility' to express how they think little girls should feel wearing their dresses. "little girls should absolutely love wearing their dress (almost as much as you love your wedding dress) and that will be the exact reaction the moment they put it on this couture flower girl dress" says DoloresPetunia. And so the adults don't feel left out, these dresses are available in adult sizes too! Visit DoloresPetunia's site on Etsy to see an assortment of dresses and jewelry that will make you say, "and I'll take one of these, and one of these, and...."
