It Costs HOW MUCH?

Source: visual.ly via Wedding on Pinterest

If you've ever wondered how your wedding planning compares to the national average, EngagementRing.org prepared this easy infographic for you. Obviously different areas of the country will vary.

Beaded Wedding Shoes

OK, so I'm hooked on pink. I don't really want to wear it, it looks horrible on me. Wrong skin tones for it. But I love the pink accents on these shoes for your wedding.

I just love looking at shoes, even if I have absolutely no use for them (I've learned to 'lust in my heart' instead of buying them!) so I no longer have a closet full of shoes, although there was a time...

A shoe lover should NEVER work in a shoe store, even part time, it's a very dangerous job to have!

Which pair would you buy? See my problem is, I'd buy both! Can you say A-D-D-I-C-T-I-O-N? Guess there are worse things to be addicted to than shoes though!

What did your favorite pair of shoes look like?

Going Pink? See This Unique Engagement Ring

Photo courtesy of CIJ International Jewelry

Engagement rings are no longer 'just' a Tiffany diamond. Engagement rings have moved from diamond solitaires to include colored diamonds as well as unique looks like this conch pearl in pink surrounded by diamonds.

It takes a unique bride to be (and bride) to wear jewelry this edgy, but no one will ever forget what your ring looks like if you are wearing this.

CIJ International Jewelry describes it as "platinum and 18-karat pink gold with 12 mm conch pearl, 3.71 carats of white diamonds and 0.99 carats of pink diamonds by Mikimoto."  Wow, don't suppose  I'll find one of these in a my next Cracker Jack box.

Navy and Pink Inspiration Board

Navy and pink or a navy and watermelon inspiration board as paperwhites posted on Southern Afternoon's web site is the perfect summer or spring look. I adore the cake and the bold shoes the bridesmaids are wearing with their navy dresses take a ho hum color for a dress and make it pop.

Head over to Southern Afternoon's web site where you'll find a large selection of inspiration boards in every color and type of wedding. Have fun!

Share Your Hair

Looking for sleek and sophisticated hair for your wedding? This is my favorite style yet! So simple yet very Grace Kelly-ish.

What do you think? Would you wear this style? Or are you into more free-flowing looks (or should that be 'locks'?)

Add links to your favorite hair styles so you all can share with each other. Pinterest or other web sites, your wedding day is coming up so you need to make some decisions.

Peacock Wedding Cake

Planning a peacock theme wedding? Visit sixfourteen photography and see how this bride and groom used accents to coordinate the theme throughout their wedding. The bride managed to find ways to add color or feathers in a variety of unusual ways.

The photographers took a great shot of their rings on top of peacock feathers (see their web site for this great photo.)

So all you peacock brides, head over to sixfourteen's web site and see how this bride and groom incorporated their theme.

Wedding Shower Pink

Planning a bridal shower? It's always a big production but hope these ideas, shared with us by Glitz Events NYC.

My personal favorite is this recipe box. Guests add their favorite recipe for two (or more) to start the bride's recipe collection.

This candy buffet  pulls all the pink together with some accent colors to give you an unrivaled buffet of pink sweets.

I hope some of these ideas help you plan your shower no matter what you your color scheme.

Oh Baby! Peacock Looks For Little Ones

Dress up baby for your peacock theme wedding! How cute! Made by MariBabies, an artisan on Etsy.com, this look is adorable. And the photo by Studio Viohl is perfect. How can you resist?

But you'd better bookmark this one because she is on vacation temporarily until after Thanksgiving. Meanwhile you can contact her on her Etsy shop.

When she comes back she says she'll have lots of new stock as well as some of her traditional pieces. Be sure to leave plenty of time before your wedding when you do order (how can you resist?) because it takes time to finish handmade products this perfect.

DIY Floral Background For Wedding Vows

Photo from MSW

Looking for a great backdrop for your wedding ceremony? Try this great idea posted on Martha Stewart Weddings.  I love the combination of colors. It's like having a bouquet on the wall! It uses simple flowers and some masking tape.

This look is perfect for the bride getting married in a room that doesn't have a great background. Would love to use it to take a ho hum hall and turn in into a bower of flowers!

And it's so easy! Tutorial on Martha's site (along with some other fabulous ideas for your wedding.)

Nails Go Gilt!

Are you a bride going goth, or a bride who wants to add some glam and glitz to her nails? Try this great look seen on the runways of Badgley Mischka. Gilt is added to the end of your French tips--wow... great look!

No matter what color you paint your nails at the bottom, add the gilt in either gold or silver to the tips for a more elegant look. If you're wearing a goth gown go for the black and gold, otherwise choose a lighter color and add the silver or gold tips.

An Unusual Group Activity For Bridal Parties

Want a perfect smile for those wedding photos? If so be sure to include a visit to the dentist so you and your bridal party have pearly white teeth for the big day. Whether you plan on straightening your teeth, whitening them or just getting your bi-yearly cleaning to be sure your smile is shining white on your wedding day, don't forget the rest of your bridal party will want to look good too.

Plan a day of shining and polishing complete with a visit to the dentist and their hygienist for the group. Plan it enough ahead of time so that you can enjoy the day together. And be sure you don't forget to take along your flower girl and ring bearer. After all, their teeth are important too.

If you live in the Philly area and are looking for an office that can accommodate children and adults visit Doc Bresler's Cavity Busters and their partners. Doc B has really cool offices that make me wish I was a kid again and they have partners who can take care of adult dentistry needs.

Visit their Facebook page and their web page to read more about it. (And see some more great pics!) I know grown men who would beg for the superhero room!(sorry guys, kids only!)  A ring bearer or flower girl are sure to be entranced.

Plan this well in advance so you can get an appointment for the group. Finding a good dentist is always tricky, so I am happy to share Doc Bresler's with you. Hope you have a great wedding day, complete with the prettiest white teeth as you all walk down the aisle.

The Tunnel of Love

The 'Tunnel of Love' photo above is a real place.  A favorite of lovers and photographers alike, this green living tunnel was formed by trains traveling through the forest and bending the greenery to their shape.

Located in Klevan, Ukraine this tunnel has it's own legend. Local lore says that a pair of lovers strolling through the tunnel who make a heartfelt wish will have their wish come true if they are sincere in their love.

But this tunnel is not just a favorite of lovers, photographers love it as well.  Winter, spring, summer or fall this tunnel is a gorgeous sight. So buy your tickets to the Ukraine, just be sure to check the train's schedule before you go walking on the tracks!

Wedding Wands From CraftUpYourLife

I was excited to find an Etsy artisan, Serena, who not only makes the great wedding wands shown above and below but also creates other wedding and event products. Visit her Etsy shop to find all her products, bet you fall in love with these must have items for your wedding.

Notice what a great photo op the wands make!

Having a Jack and Jill Shower? Hand them out to guests provide a tag telling the guests to ring the bells each time they want the bride and groom-to-be to kiss. So much better than clanging on glasses! Not to mention so much prettier! Use them the same way at your wedding.

I love the personalized wands with the couples names and wedding date to use instead of confetti or bubbles as they exit the church. No messy soapy hands from handling wedding bubbles and no clean up fee for guests throwing confetti, rice or birdseed.

So head on over to Etsy and visit Serena's shop, CraftUpYourLife and find just the right color combinations for your wedding. Be sure to get your orders in early! You don't want to miss out on these.

Wunderweib offers these great ideas for ways to add flowers to each place setting to give each setting a beautiful look. It's almost the same as adding a small vase at each place setting. Whether you use home grown tulips or your favorite orchids, the flowers add a wow factor to your table.

It is touches like these that take your table from pedestrian to looking like a designer had a hand in setting your table. I love the red tulip, but the orchids are my daughter's favorites.

Hand Illustrated Invitations From Vigilante Paper

Photo of Green Garden Design courtesy of  Vigilante Paper

Are you a bride looking for non-traditional wedding stationary? You need look no farther than Vigilante Paper. Vigilante Paper offers hand illustrated stationary that has whimsical themes that aren't your typical cliche graphics. I wish they'd been around when I got married!

Vigilante was started when Olivia Suchman Joffrey, the founder and creative director saw the need to provide creative and artistic stationary at a non-custom price. She decided to offer "handmade looking, custom invitations at a reasonable price." Their invitations strive to avoid the 'too sweet for words' look of many invitations that make grooms want to head for the hills when looking at wedding invitations. Vigilante offers invitations that are offbeat, original and unconventional but still which are still pretty.

Vigilante strives for a custom look but with printing and ordering that is modern and efficient. The company's tagline "Custom....ish wedding invitations" hints at this hybrid of hand-made and high tech. They have the added appeal of costing up to 50% less than letterpress or engraved invitations. A real bonus for wedding couples looking to stick to their budget without sacrificing quality.

You can get a 'goodie bag' filled with samples of Vigilante's invitations for just $5. You can't appreciate their quality until you hold them in your hand--you'll fall in love. And isn't that what weddings are all about?

Head over to Vigilante's web site. Let me know which invitations you like the best.  If you order from Vigilante tell them Nancy from WDW(Wedding Day Weekly) sent you!
