Every Wedding Needs Champagne

Photo courtesy of Erica's Sweet Tooth
Every wedding needs to serve champagne, so why not choose a unique way to serve it? Try these champagne jello shots topped with sanding sugar. Insert a decorative toothpick, featuring the colors of your wedding or maybe your monogram?
These are perfect for a home wedding where you have time to make these ahead of time and store them in your refrigerator.
Just a tip, if you are expecting the bubbles to survive being turned into jello, you'll be disappointed, but this is a great way to serve champagne (or even use up champagne for a day after party.)
Recipe adapted from Bakers Royale
15 jello shots

10 oz plus 5oz champagne (or prosecco or sparkling wine)
1 tablespoon sugar
3 envelopes Knox plain gelatin
White sparkling sugar (sanding sugar)

Put 10 ounces of your champagne and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a sauce pan. Sprinkle gelatin on top of the liquid. Place over low heat, stir about 2 minutes or until dissolved. Take off the heat and add the remaining champagne or prosecco. Stir until combined. Pour into a loaf pan and chill for an hour or more. Use a sharp bladed knife to cut the champagne jello into squares. Right before serving top with sanding sugar. Top with a decorative toothpick or serve in a decorative cup.

Unique Wedding Cakes

Photos courtesy of Avivus
Wedding cakes come in all shapes and sizes and this unique birdcage wedding cake is feminine and romantic--perfect for your wedding day! No cake toppers needed, this cake has enough flowers and lace look to it that anything additional would be overkill.

And if you are looking for a single cake for the bride and groom, this birdcage cake will be perfect on the sweetheart table. My only problem, fondant! I love the look of fondant, but I don't know anyone who likes to eat it. But I do love these cakes and thought they'd be an interesting addition for a bride who is looking for a cake that is a little different.

Rustic Wedding

Planning a rustic wedding? Why not consider using baby's breath on top of a wine barrel? It has the look of lace and is inexpensive as well. Add some baby's breath to the wedding bouquet and bridesmaids' flowers to pull the look together.

Another great look to add for a rustic wedding are horseshoe placecards. So easy to make you don't even need directions! Again this photo courtesy of White Rose Weddings ... Put them on a burlap backing to give it a barn like look.
These two easy ideas are simple to add to your rustic barn wedding. Some other ideas? Rustic benches ir bales of hay covered with cloth instead of chairs, barbeque instead of fancy dinners, use some mason jars scattered around the tabletops for centerpieces, and give homemade jam for wedding favors. And the ideas just keep on coming!

Champagne Wedding

A tower of champagne is sure to catch the eye of all your wedding guests. It takes a steady hand to pour the champagne (or make that several steady hands) but it will wow your guests and who doesn't love champagne?

Easy Economical DIY Centerpiece

Photo courtesy of Amore Event Design
Anchor silk flowers using clear floral marbles is a glass or vase of water, add a floating candle and voila! an easy economical centerpiece. Add some votive candles is a coordinating color or the same color as the flowers and you have a great centerpiece.
Be sure to test the glasses out to be sure they are able to withstand the heat of the floating candles, I've seen centerpieces shatter when the glass was not meant to withstand the heat of candles burning.

Fancy cupcakes that zing? Try Pop Rocks cupcakes. What a nice surprise at your wedding shower! I love them in pinks, but you can use any color Pop Rocks available to match your color scheme. Or you CAN make your own rock candy, color it to match your color scheme, and crush it so it resembles Pop Rocks. I love the way the pinks are different colors in this photo, it makes a nice photo not to mention an attractive presentation for your dessert buffet. So enjoy making your Pop Rocks cupcakes.
