Rustic Wedding

Photo courtesy of White Rose Weddings ...

Planning a rustic wedding? Why not consider using baby's breath on top of a wine barrel? It has the look of lace and is inexpensive as well. Add some baby's breath to the wedding bouquet and bridesmaids' flowers to pull the look together.

Another great look to add for a rustic wedding are horseshoe placecards. So easy to make you don't even need directions! Again this photo courtesy of White Rose Weddings ... Put them on a burlap backing to give it a barn like look.

These two easy ideas are simple to add to your rustic barn wedding. Some other ideas? Rustic benches ir bales of hay covered with cloth instead of chairs, barbeque instead of fancy dinners, use some mason jars scattered around the tabletops for centerpieces, and give homemade jam for wedding favors. And the ideas just keep on coming!

Bouquets With Color

Photos courtesy of Robert Dyer Photography from Bridal Access

Any bride who loves color can avoid the ho hum white bouquets and jazz up her day with a bright bouquet. Why not have a brightly colored wedding bouquet? These bouquets reflect your personality and brighten up your wedding day. Callas and orchids are perfect choices, and be sure to add some greenery to balance out the colors. No more ho hum white rose bouquets, go for the color!

Blue and Pink Wedding Bouquets

Photo courtesy of Bouquet Wedding Flower

Love the colors in this brides bouquet. The blue and white Singapore Orchids and Pink Lilies give the bouquet a boost of color against the brides white gown. The colors give the wedding additional color and really pop in photos. For more photos check Queensland Brides.

Orchid Wedding Bouquets

Photo posted on Wedluxe

Are you in love with orchids but dreading the idea of a huge heavy bouquet? Try this lighter version of it's heavier sister shown below.

It doesn't have all the extraneous flowers some cascade bouquets do, and it also should cost you about half as much! Face it, sometimes it's not all about cost, but what bride wants to be dragged down by two tons  of flowers? (OK so I exaggerate a little!) I'd choose the top bouquet any day!

As a bride who carried a cascade bouquet, I have personal experience to draw on here.  Also if you are having orchids, be sure an have your florist make you a silk bouquet to toss, orchids don't survive slamming onto the floor or being grabbed at by "all the single women."

Love the wrap of glitz the top lighter bouquet shows too.  The top bouquet is five stems of orchid with an added plume of white feathers. Nice combo! Not usually a feather person but I like them here. What do you think? Bouquet 1 or bouquet 2? Leave me a comment!

Flowers and Pearls - Simple and Elegant

I'm about to be the mother of the bride and I have to admit I love this idea! I really don't want pins in my dress and this pearl wristlet is perfect! Not only am I a big pearl fan but it's small enough as to be unobtrusive!

These would also be perfect for a bride who wants to carry a bible or prayer book but who wants some flowers as well. Pretty. Simple. Stylish. See JL Designs for this and other great floral designs.

Also check their site for some great photos of grooms holding bouquets. Love the idea for a wedding pic!

Who Wears Boutonnieres?

Photos courtesy of: http://www.floralartvt.com

Wedding flower decisions are pretty straight forward: a bouquet for the bride and her attendants, flowers for the ceremony, table centerpieces, but the personal flowers such as boutonnieres and corsages tend to be more of a personal choice and are up to the bride and groom.  Some opt for no boutonnieres at all.

In general boutonnieres are worn by the groom, groomsmen, fathers, grandfathers, ushers and ring bearers as well as your officiant if you are not having a religious ceremony. Corsages are traditionally given to mothers & grandmothers, although you can substitute a small bouquet for the mother of the bride/groom.

You may also want to include any siblings that aren’t in the wedding party and their spouses, readers, singers and other important family members including step-parents.

Personal flowers are a perfect way of acknowledging people close to you on your wedding day.
