Show off those shoes! Marchesa has two great shoes designs perfect for a wedding, especially if you have chosen a tea length dress or a short dress. Heels are a manageable height so you can dance all night and really enjoy it.

These flat sandals are so decorative that you almost do not need any jewelry other than your wedding rings. Very Bollywood-esque! So get that pedicure and get ready to show off your shoes on your wedding day.

Peacock Shoes For The Bride

Photo and product courtesy of Etsy.com (page currently down)

For the uber peacock bride why not wear a pair of shoes decorated with Swarovski crystals in a peacock design with peacock feathers adorning the heel of each. Hopefully this link will be back up soon! Meanwhile to check on it here.

The crystals draw attention to the detailed design and add a 'something blue' to your wedding ensemble. For all my 'peacock brides' this is a must have!

Beer Wedding Cake

"cake" courtesy of Sweets n Treats

What a great idea for a groom's room for the day of your wedding! Or for a groom's cake that is off the beaten track. Make these three tiers of your favorite beer on some cake rounds. Just tie them together with some decorative ribbon and add a decorative bow to the top can.

Here's a cake a guy and his friends can really get around! If you'd rather the guys weren't drinking the day of the wedding, make it for a wedding shower where the guys are invited. They are sure to enjoy their own personal cake instead of frou frou finger foods!

What to Throw Instead of Rice?

Photo courtesy of Trendy Pics (link unavailable)

Can't throw rice, can't throw birdseed, what CAN you throw? How about some multi-colored sprinkles(or jimmies)? So pretty! And look what a great photo it makes! You can either use multi-colored sprinkles or make some to match your bridesmaid dresses or wedding palate.

For details on how to color  your own sprinkles go to my Wedding Cookies blog. Custom coloring makes it so much fun! I wouldn't suggest using red food coloring for this project, sticking with pastels is a good choice in case dye runs at all. You don't want food coloring on your hem!

Braids For Brides

Photo and tutorial courtesy of Long Hair Styles How To

Are you a bride who loves braids? Then Maiden Braids are the perfect choice for you on your wedding day. They will pull your long hair up for your wedding day and look elegant at the same time.

First braid two strands to the side of the center part. Then wrap those braids around your crown, pinning in place using just one pin for each. Arrange your braids so they resemble a hairband. Pin braids until you feel secure. Pull the rest of  your hair into a a ponytail and then pin up into a messy bun. Add more pins and go say your 'I Do's.' You can always skip the messy bun and just leave your hair down for yet another look. Add small flowers or pearls on you hair pins for decoration in lieu of a veil.

Cool Summer Drinks

Peach Flip courtesy of Cook Au Vin

Cook Au Vin gives us the basic recipe for a great summer drink called Peach Flips.

Here's my take on the recipe for a great way to help your guests quench their thirst with the added taste of great fresh Georgia peaches. If you want to make these without using fresh peaches you can used frozen ones for making larger batches for parties or weddings.

Peach Flip or Peach Lemonade Coolers

4 medium sized, ripe peaches, peeled, halved and pitted
1 cup lemonade
2 ounces Smirnoff Vodka

Peach Slices

Puree the peaches with lemonade until smooth using your blender.

Pour vodka over ice in 4 rocks  glasses.  Top off with peach-lemonade puree that you made in your blender.

Add a slice of peach on the edge for an accent. Yum!  Don't like vodka? Use champagne instead! Perfect replacement for a mimosa at a brunch wedding.

Champagne Cocktail

Strawberry Kiwi Cocktail from Pinterest

Champagne cocktails should be pretty and taste good. This Strawberry Kiwi Champagne Cocktail is perfect for a wedding or bridal shower. Add that pretty slice of kiwi to each glass to give it a bright green accent.

How can you make one? Add 1 bottle of champagne to a pitcher, plus 1 bottle of Strawberry Kiwi Fruitwater, 1 cup strawberries, chopped. For garnish add some pretty slices of kiwi or add an whole strawberry. Serve in a champagne flute or on the rocks in an Old Fashioned Glass. This drink is sure to wow your guests and be a 'little bit different' from the usual champagne cocktail.

Getting Your Groom In Top Shape!

Grooms need to be whipped into top shape just like brides do, but what to feed your groom so he's in top shape for the honeymoon? Broccoli!

I came across an infographic the other day titled "10 Health Benefits of Broccoli." OK skip all the healthy stuff until you get to #10--Brococoli makes for Manly Men! OK now we're talkin'! A reason a man just might be willing to eat the 'dreaded vegetables.' Broccoli increases testostorone! OK!!!

So the next time your groom is avoiding those great good tasting veggies that so many of them hate, here's a good reason for them to learn to love it! And you might want to consider adding some to your wedding menu too. No reason to to miss those great broccoli benefits!
