Orange Accents For Weddings

Photo courtesy of The Style Skinny

Orange accents used with gray are popular color combinations for both summer and fall weddings. Thinking of some bright orange for a hot summer day to cool down the temps? Or maybe a autumn wedding, using the orange to pull in the autumn colors of leaves, pumpkins or Thanksgiving?

Choose an orange tie and pocket square with an orange boutonniere to brighten a grey tuxedo and add some orange flowers to the bouquets of the bridesmaids and even the bride.

Below see the orange sparkle shoes. This particular pair is an older style but you can make your own using orange glitter (see older posts on making your own gold glitter shoes.)

Looking for more ideas on how to incorporate orange into your wedding day? See the inspiration board below. My favorite is the bouquet in the center. There's also another orange tie for you to consider. There are plenty of ways to add orange to your wedding. You've previously seen how we can use pumpkins and gourds for centerpieces. So decide how much orange you want to use and then choose how you will add it to your wedding and reception.

Cool Summer Drinks

Peach Flip courtesy of Cook Au Vin

Cook Au Vin gives us the basic recipe for a great summer drink called Peach Flips.

Here's my take on the recipe for a great way to help your guests quench their thirst with the added taste of great fresh Georgia peaches. If you want to make these without using fresh peaches you can used frozen ones for making larger batches for parties or weddings.

Peach Flip or Peach Lemonade Coolers

4 medium sized, ripe peaches, peeled, halved and pitted
1 cup lemonade
2 ounces Smirnoff Vodka

Peach Slices

Puree the peaches with lemonade until smooth using your blender.

Pour vodka over ice in 4 rocks  glasses.  Top off with peach-lemonade puree that you made in your blender.

Add a slice of peach on the edge for an accent. Yum!  Don't like vodka? Use champagne instead! Perfect replacement for a mimosa at a brunch wedding.

Blinded By Love?

Photo and idea courtesy of: Tip Junkie Party from Style Me Pretty

Beach weddings or picnic weddings often hand out fans to help keep their guests cool, but we love the idea of handing out these inexpensive sun glasses to guests.  The sign that goes with the favor table reads "Don't Get Blinded By Our Love"--perfect with the inexpensive sunglasses!

Add to the sunglasses a jar of sparklers for when the bride and groom leave! Signage says: "Let Your Love Shine." Perfect, inexpensive, but what style!
